1. Agreement and eligibility
By downloading, purchasing or using Dictaphone, you agree to these terms. You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet Apple’s age requirements for App Store purchases. If you use Dictaphone for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to do so.
2. The service
Dictaphone provides voice dictation, app-aware text tools, meeting recording, cloud speech transcription and local speaker separation. Features can vary by device, operating system, language, country, subscription and provider availability.
3. Subscriptions and included hours
Subscriptions are sold and renewed by Apple. Starter currently includes 10 cloud transcription hours per subscription month, Pro 30 hours, and Power 100 hours. The App Store product shown at purchase controls your actual entitlement. Eligible on-device dictation does not consume cloud hours.
Included hours reset each calendar month and do not roll over. Dictaphone may stop accepting new cloud transcription when the allowance is exhausted. You can purchase an available credit pack, move to a higher plan, or continue using eligible on-device features.
4. Additional credits and Enterprise
Credit packs are one-time App Store purchases for use with an active subscription. Included hours are consumed before credits. Unless local law requires otherwise, unused purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase and have no cash value. Enterprise capacity, invoicing and support are governed by a separate written agreement.
5. Renewal, cancellation and refunds
Apple controls billing, renewal, cancellation and consumer refunds. Manage your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Deleting Dictaphone does not cancel a subscription. Prices may change in accordance with Apple’s processes and applicable law.
6. Meeting recording and consent
You are responsible for telling every participant that recording and cloud AI transcription will occur and obtaining all consent required by law, contract and workplace policy. You must not record where prohibited. The in-app acknowledgement is a product safeguard, not legal advice or proof of consent.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use Dictaphone to violate privacy, intellectual property or other rights; record people unlawfully; distribute malware; interfere with the service; bypass usage limits; probe credentials or infrastructure; or process content you are not authorised to handle.
8. Your content
You retain rights in your recordings and transcripts. You give Dictaphone and its providers only the limited permission needed to process content at your request and return the result. You are responsible for the legality, accuracy and use of your content.
9. Accuracy and availability
Speech recognition and speaker labels can be wrong. Review important transcripts before relying on them. Dictaphone is provided on an “as available” basis and is not an emergency, medical, legal, financial or regulated-recordkeeping service. We may maintain, change or discontinue features, subject to applicable law.
10. Intellectual property
Dictaphone’s software, branding, interface and documentation belong to Amzu or its licensors. These terms give you a personal, limited, revocable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership.
11. Suspension and termination
We may restrict cloud access for abuse, security risks, payment or entitlement failure, legal requirements, or material breach. You can stop using the service at any time and manage the subscription through Apple.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Amzu is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or decisions made from an inaccurate transcript. Our aggregate liability relating to the paid service is limited to the amount you paid for Dictaphone during the previous 12 months.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will publish the new effective date. Material changes apply prospectively as required by law. Questions can be sent to venkat@amzuit.com.
